Whether you are hiking the Soonwaldsteig in stages or in search of a nature experience with the whole family - the three new trekking camps in the Soonwald welcome everyone wanting to experience and appreciate nature up close.

These camps were designed in harmony with nature, true to the principle: "Leave nothing behind but your footprints, take nothing with you but lasting impressions." Equipped with only six campsites, a fireplace and an outhouse, they provide all you need for a small adventure.

Being noisy is forbidden - the focus is on relaxation in the peaceful surroundings. There are roads in the vicinity but you cannot reach the camps by car. So, put your rucksack on and start walking.

Trekking Camp Alteburg
At the Trekking Camp Alteburg, a former charcoal making site, you can sleep peacefully in the shade of spruce and beech tree population. Hardly a stone's throw away, the Alteburg Tower watches over this peaceful site. From the observation platform you can let your gaze wander.

Trekking Camp Ellerspring
Located on the Ellerspring, you camp at 657.5 meters above sea level, the highest elevation in the Soonwald. Finding the entrance to the trekking camp requires a bit of searching, but once you find the narrow access, it opens into a clearance surrounded by old trees. On clear days, you can catch a glimpse of the Donnersberg in the distance.

Trekking Camp Ochsenbaumer Höhe
Surrounded by majestic beech trees the Trekking Camp Ochsenbaumer Höhe invites you to take a rest and relax for a while. An excellent place for a comfortable rest, on sunny days in the shade of the trees and on cold nights in the warmth of a campfire.
